Kristen Shores is a singer-songwriter and pianist from Muscle Shoals, Alabama, blending soul, jazz and blues with touches of ’70s soft rock, funk and Americana. A two-time Josie Music Awards nominee, she writes and co-produces alongside Grammy-nominated songwriter Lisa Silver and veteran Muscle Shoals  and Motown musician and producer Clayton Ivey.

Raised in a fundamentalist religious world, Kristen came out as a lesbian later in life and began writing songs shaped by the things she had spent years learning not to say out loud. Her music explores anger, love, spirituality, motherhood, identity and the freedom that comes with trusting your voice.

Beyond music, Kristen is a somatic practitioner and works in her community creating spaces for women to tell the truth about their experiences, explore emotional expression and reclaim their voices.
